Weekly Youth Round-Up 23rd April

A busy week with action in most age groups.

 Under 7.5 & U9.5 Football Blitz

The U7.5’s headed to Lisnaskea for a blitz on Sunday great fun was had and the boys and girls really enjoyed the day. Thanks to Lisnaskea for your hospitality.

Under 11.5 Girls Football

The U11.5 girls hosted Lisnaskea in Brewster Park on Thursday evening, in a well contested game the girls showed some great skills and teamwork, resulting in a well earned victory.

Under 11.5 Boys Football

On Saturday the boys fielded 2 teams against Roslea and Devenish. The division 3 clash with Roslea was played out in terrible conditions but the boys battled on manfully. Captained on the day by Conor McHugh they just fell short in the end but will take encouragement from a great team performance. In the other tie the boys managed to overcome the visitors from Devenish. Well done to both teams.

Under 15 Boys Hurling

The U15 boys started the season on Monday night at the Bawnacre for a county blitz they played Belnaleck and St Aidan’s narrowly losing both games. On Wednesday they played their first Tain Og match against Sean McCumhaills GFC Ballybofey. The Donegal team travelled with an experienced team who were too strong physically for the young Gaels and won convincingly. This was a good test for our boys who were not lacking in heart or effort.

Under 16 Ladies Football

The U16 Girls are going from strength-to-strength and this week saw them qualify for the league final with games left to play. Convincing wins against Derrygonnelly away on Monday and Belnaleck at home on Thursday have seen them go unbeaten so far this season. Well done girls!
